Please join us for this UTS2030 Practice Showcase on building student and staff capability with GenAI

You are warmly invited to hear Dr Biyanka Ekanayake share how she is working across the School to implementing strategise to build student and staff capability with GenAI.

Guest Speaker

Dr Biyanka Ekanayake | Faculty of Design & Society/Built Environment

As School AI Lead, Biyanka has developed a coordinated, discipline-relevant approach to GenAI across construction, property, planning and project management disciplines over 18 months. The initiative moves beyond AI-related academic integrity concerns toward building staff and student capability through workshops, peer consultations, GenAI guidance templates, and discipline-specific assessment redesign.

A key insight: coordinated doesn’t mean one-size-fits-all. Different disciplines require different GenAI responses, but shared resources, clearer expectations and ongoing conversations build consistency and confidence across teaching teams.
