Join Dr Anna Lidfors Lindqvist for an extended presentation of her 2024 Learning and Teaching Forum session, now further developed and accepted for the Australasian Association of Engineering Education (AAEE) Conference. This session explores a structured reflection process embedded in teaching practice, where students regularly record their highlights, lowlights, and aha moments.

This approach provides a dynamic and ongoing picture of student learning and challenges—moving beyond traditional end-of-session feedback tools like EFS and SFS. It also fosters a stronger sense of belonging, as students gain insight into their peers’ reflections, helping normalise shared struggles and successes.

With the support of GenAI, reflections are analysed at scale to identify common themes across large cohorts, making the process sustainable and actionable. This was also curated into a resource for the Engineering Futures Initiative (EFI): Highlights-lowlights-aha moments Reflection in Practice.pdf

Learn how this reflective cycle can be effectively integrated into your teaching—and where to draw the line before it becomes too much of a good thing.
