How do we build confidence in student achievement without trying to secure every assessment task?

This interactive two-hour workshop explores how the UTS Mosaic Approach can be applied in practice. Participants will examine what secure assessment means in the current context, work through the key principles of whole-of-course assessment design, examine how secure assessment milestones can be used to assure learning outcomes, and consider how ethical engagement with generative AI can be incorporated across a course. The workshop will also introduce practical approaches to using CILO mapping and assessment patterns to create a coherent “mosaic” of evidence of student learning.

Designed for academic and professional staff involved in curriculum and assessment, the workshop combines discussion, practical activities, and opportunities to apply the concepts to your own course context.

Format: In person only, 2-hour interactive workshop

Who should attend: Academic and professional staff interested in assessment design, assessment integrity, generative AI, and whole-of-course curriculum development.
