1:30 pm - 2:30 pm - Zoom – further details provided upon registration
Subject coordinators are invited to attend our next interactive webinar on the Student360 Subject Dashboard to explore it more deeply. We ask that academics attending have already used the dashboard to some extent.
Previously, we have presented webinars on cohort diversity, enrolment day-to-day changes and post-session performance of these cohorts. This session will present more on the dashboard and dive deeper into the opportunities it provides us to reflect on practice.
- Ways to work with the new repeat student data; hear from academics on how they used that data to support students with at least one failed subject.
- Examine more deeply the Past Results screen and hear how academics have used this for more targeted, inclusive practices for the different group needs.
We will have time to allow attendees to explore their own subject sites and reflect on the impact of past sessions.
A little history:
The Student360 Subject Dashboard was initiated as part of the First Year Experience (FYE) project in 2016 to support academics teaching first-year subjects with useful infographics to help inform planning and delivery of their subjects. A cross-functional team from CIC (learning analytics), Data Warehouse (data analytics) and interaction design (Preece et al, 2015), collaborated with first-year academics to frame interfaces/visuals aligned with four goals:
- understanding cohort diversity for inclusive design;
- tracking subject enrolments to census;
- analysing student performance post-session, and
- evaluating the impact of curriculum or learning design changes.
Using feedback over the years, the subject dashboard continues to update to the current needs of both academics and student support policy.
