Join us at the 2025 UTS Work Integrated Learning Symposium, dedicated to strengthening Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and paving the way for future professionals whilst addressing industry trends.

This symposium offers interactive sessions where you can engage directly with experts and peers, gaining valuable insights, co-creating new ideas, and forging important connections. Join university staff from across NSW and immerse yourself in enriching conversations that will shape the future of Work Integrated Learning at UTS and further afield.

Program highlights

  • Hot topic table conversations: Engage in short, sharp consultations on cutting-edge WIL issues, including equity, employability, strengthening WIL partnership and Generative AI skills beyond the classroom.
  • A buzzing world cafe format: Where topic experts facilitate impactful consultations.
  • Morning tea: Network with fellow participants.
  • Provocative panel: Hear from students, industry experts, researchers, and WIL practitioners.

Changes this year include:

  • Reducing the event to half a day from 9am to 1pm.
  • Inviting external WIL experts to the closing panel (also students and alumni) and external WIL practitioners to the WIL Symposium, strengthening UTS’ reputation as a leading WIL university.
  • Running hot topics tables with 2 aims: capturing current practices, and what needs improving.
  • Focusing on the UTS 2030 Strategy, Course Loop collecting quality WIL data, embedding Career Development Learning for equity students, addressing recent interest in declining GOS outcomes, and engagement in WIL & GenAI.
