The U@Uni Future Learning Workshop series is a free program designed to support teachers to design, implement, reflect on and share curriculum that builds skills required for future study and employment. This program is open to equity funded public high schools in NSW. Using approaches such as project based learning (PBL) and design thinking teachers will learn ways to deepen learning and build student attributes such as critical thinking, creativity, innovation and collaboration in their classroom. Through our intensive workshops, teachers develop authentic programs that motivate and engage diverse learners through real world connections. Our Support labs provide the opportunity for teachers to gain support and advice in planning and implementing their PBL programs. Using the UTS LX.lab, designed to support teaching and learning at UTS, teachers are invited to come to UTS or chat with us online to connect with UTS staff and lead teachers during designated support times throughout the second half of the year. Support labs are designed to further assist those teachers who have developed projects in our Project Design Lab workshop.
We are always keen to connect with the wider UTS teaching and learning community and should you want more information or to join in, please contact Lisa Aitken at the Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion.
