1:00 pm - 2:00 pm - Zoom – further details provided upon registration
Global events like the Black Lives Matter movement and COVID-19 have challenged traditional narratives and created new opportunities for how we tell stories, which stories we tell, and who has the power to tell them. What does this mean for how we talk about diverse issues? And how can we wield the power of diverse storytelling to promote greater inclusion and representation?
This NAIDOC week, join UTS Indigenous Australian Alumni award winner Phillipa McDermott (ABC Indigenous Employment Manager and Chair of Bangarra) in conversation with fellow alumni Dan Conifer (ABC Political Reporter), as they discuss the exciting new opportunities and experiences this change can bring, and how storytellers can contribute to discovering and developing these stories.
