“We can’t solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them” – Albert Einstein.

What do Palauan fisherman, earthquake emergency responders and cats on parachutes have in common? These are just a few of the scenarios to be explored at the Masterclass on Systems Thinking for Impact on Sustainable Development.

The Masterclass will help international development practitioners to grasp Systems Thinking as an approach to help us engage with complexities of sustainable development. It will introduce participants to skills for differentiating complex problems from other types of problems. We will use a variety of practical tools to apply systems thinking, including application to case study scenarios. We will also identify opportunities for multi-sector partnerships in development in the context of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. Multiple aspects of development will be explored including the project cycle, support for country and thematic strategy development and working with in-country partners.

The Masterclass is tailored for those working in the development sector, particularly NGO practitioners in Australia and also from in-country partners. It is also relevant to business and government sectors. The cost will be $180 per person (including lunch) and numbers are strictly limited so please register here.
