Would you like to apply for a UTS or national teaching award? Do you feel you are ready for promotion and wondering how to build your case?

Whether you’re planning to apply for promotion or teaching and learning awards, describing your work for performance and planning discussions or just keen to develop your academic profile, it’s important to be able to make a good case for teaching and learning.  This series of four short workshops will assist you to build a convincing and evidence-based case for your achievements.

The workshops will focus on:

  • Learning what makes a good application, from Prof Shirley Alexander and past successful applicants;
  • Collaborating with peers to practice telling your story and communicating your strengths;
  • Developing stronger evidence to support your claims;
  • Writing a concise and convincing case.

You will benefit most if you plan to come to all four sessions and complete some short activities on making your case before and between sessions. The workshops and activities are also designed to save you time when it comes to putting together an application.
