This is our special End of Year event, please register and come along.
This First Year Experience (FYE) forum is designed to engage you in discussing UTS approaches (new and old) to building student resilience and supporting their wellness. These are both curricular and co-curriculum support practices. The practices support students across all year levels (undergraduate and post graduate).
Topic: Student Resilience and Wellbeing
Ruth Deakin Crick, a visiting professor from CIC, will present CLARA, an online tool to help students understand their learning approach and help them develop resilient agency. Case study examples from UTS and industry will be included. You will engage in activities to consider how CLARA might be used in your subjects or student support program.
We will hear from a panel of staff and students on their roles in supporting student wellness in the curriculum and outside the curriculum. Many of these practices designed to help students in their learning journey have been strengthened through the widening participation strategy(WPS) program. The panel will focus on new forms of support as well as established ones.
And finally, we’ll engage in conversations about how we address common student stress issues.
Special Christmas goodies will be available for afternoon tea, with drinks and nibbles to follow after the conclusion of the event.
RSVP to the FYE coordinator, Dr Kathy Egea at kathy.egea@uts.edu.au if:
