Ways forward: Thriving in the COVID-19 T&L environment

About the forum rationale:

At the beginning of the year, the Faculty FFYE Coordinators and Kathy Egea, UTS FFYE Coordinator, were planning the event themes throughout the year. We designed this forum around Thriving, and we workshopped a plan to ensure success.

Then Covid-19 struck, and the notion of thriving seems impossible, given than most of us are just surviving.

However, the Teach-learnnet email (14 April) from the DVC (Education & Students) outlining student feedback in the early feedback survey, indicated that many students are very grateful with the quick move to the online environment and engaging them so well.

Let’s learn from each other.

Given that the FFYE forums are designed for attendees to share practices and making connection with staff from both the T&L environment and the student support staff and in frequent cases, with students, we want to:

  • draw on your ideas of success and thriving,
  • hear from students and student support teams,
  • provide some useful literature, and
  • work on self-care.

We are planning to use Zoom, breakout groups, and use technology tools to draw out common ideas.   We hope too, that you continue to network with your colleagues in this virtual space.

After you register below, an email will be sent to you with the Zoom link.

Academics, professional staff and students are welcome to registrar.
