Would you like to apply for a teaching award?

Do you feel ready for a promotion and wonder how to build your case?

This is the third in the series of workshops on making a case for teaching when applying for awards and promotions.  In this workshop we will explore what sources of evidence of effectiveness we have access to, what makes good evidence, and how you might organise your evidence to best effect.

Pre-work for this workshop

1. Find the criteria/guidelines for the citations, awards or promotion that you’re applying for.  For UTS awards, look at last year’s guidelines as a guide.  For promotions, go to Academic Promotion in Staff Connect.  Please read all for the purpose of this session and look at the Guidelines for Writing a Case for Promotion.

2. Using the guidelines you’ve chosen, make a dot point list of the evidence that you might have available now.  We’ll be asking you to share points from your lists in the session.

3. Download one of the successful national Citation applications in Canvas and scan for the kinds of evidence the applicant used.  We’ll be discussing examples in the Zoom session.
